This month's Tank of the Month belongs to class 4HK at Old Orchard Primary School!

Inhabitants:
  • * 2 Serpae Tetras called Red Bean and Fudge
  • * 3 Neon Tetras
  • * 1 Female Fighting fish called Swish
  • * 1 Red Platy called Frank
  • * 1 Gold Platy called Bob

How big is your tank?
Dymax IQ 5 – 13 Litres.

What equipment are you using (filtration, lighting, heater, CO2 gear etc)?

  • * 3 in 1 IQ Media
  • * IQ Thermo mini heater
  • * Built in trickle filter
  • * LED lighting

What aquascaping have you done (gravel, plants, corals, etc)?

  • * Natural coloured gravel
  • * Artificial silk and plastic plants
  • * Ornaments from Coburg Aquarium

How much time do you spend maintaining your tank per week?
Up to an hour each week.

What do you feed the inhabitants of your tank?
Vipan Staple Diet flakes.

Tell us some interesting/unique about your tank?
These fish belong to a Grade 4 class with 28 students. The fish are so tame now that each morning when the pet carers (2 students) feed the fish they come to the surface and the students can pat them (very gently!). These tropical fish are very bright and have daily lessons in Spelling, Literacy, Maths and History!
