TotM FEBRUARY 2013

This month's Tank of the Month belongs to Stanly Azarcon.

Inhabitants:
  • * x6 Male Guppys
  • * x3 Corydoras
  • * x2 Neon Tetras
  • * x1 Black Neon Tetra
  • * x1 Mystery Snail

How big is your tank?
My tank is a 40L tank.

What equipment are you using (filtration, lighting, heater, CO2 gear etc)?
I use the inbuilt waterfall filter, an Aqua One 55W heater and a Fluorescent lighting

What aquascaping have you done (gravel, plants, corals, etc)?
My tank consists of a depth of around 2.5 of gravel on the bottom, a piece of driftwood in which I planted a Java Fern on, Java mosses which are currently spreading to make a moss carpet, and Jungle Vallisneria's to fill in the background. All of the plants are very easy to take care of and low maintenance.

How much time do you spend maintaining your tank per week?
I usually spend approximately around 10-15 minutes a week, or an hour if I need to do a water change.

What is your maintenance routine (water changes, chemical additions etc)?
I usually add chemicals such as API Co2 Booster, API Stress Coat and Nutrafin Cycle each week to help protect the fishes from any diseases, help the plants grow well, and to help the filter do its job. I usually do a 20% - 30% water change each month.

What do you feed your fish?
I feed my fishes flake food and also frozen blood worms.

Tell us some interesting/unique about your tank?
From out of all the 4 fish tanks I have around my house, this tank is my favourite as it consist of live plants instead of plastic, and is very attractive to look at with all the different sorts of fishes swimming around on the top, middle and bottom. It sits in front of the kitchen ledge where it is visible to everyone both in the kitchen and in the family room.
