Range: Java, Sumatra, Borneo
Reproduction: Substrate (cave) brooder, eggs defended by the male until they hatch. Fry at first require very small live foods.
Feeding: Carnivorous. Prefers live foods, usually will also accept some frozen foods.
Additional Comments: Needs several hiding places and fine dark sand. Benefits from additional salt added to its water (app. 2-5% brackish). Ideal for a nano tank.
