Reproduction: Egg scatterer: eggs laid on plants and usually hatch in about 14 days. First foods for fry: vinegar eels, powder food.

Additional Comments: Shoaling fish, best kept in a group. Prefers open swimming space with some background plant thickets. Males develop long filamentous anal and dorsal fins as they mature.
