Preferred Water Parameters:

Range: Lake Malawi: throughout the lake
Reproduction: Mouthbrooder: after spawning, the females incubate the eggs in their mouth until the fry are free-swimming. Males will mate with multiple females. The fry are easily raised with first foods such as baby brine shrimp.
Feeding: Carnivorous. Piscivorous, feeding mainly on small fish. Frozen and dry foods.
Additional Comments: One of the most popular Malawi Cichlids. Males start to get their amazing blue colour at around 5-6cm. Hardy and easily kept.
