Range: Congo basin, Africa
Reproduction: Egg-scatterer among plants, needs soft water. Fry initially require very small foods.
Feeding: Omnivorous. Eats all normal foods, appreciates regular feedings of live or frozen foods.
Additional Comments: Schooling fish. Grows larger than most commonly kept Tetras, but quite peaceful. Males are brighter coloured and develop ragged-edged fin extensions. Their reflective body colouring is more pronounced if the tank gets some side lighting.
