Range: Western Colombia
Reproduction: Egg-scatterer among plants, needs soft water. Fry initially require very small foods. Difficult to induce to breed.
Feeding: Omnivorous. Eats all normal foods, appreciates occasional feeds of live or frozen foods.
Additional Comments: Rarely available, aquarium stock is all imported from South America as this fish is difficult to breed. Males have a mosaic of colour on their flanks and a red eye.
