Range: Guyana: Essequibo river basin
Reproduction: Egg-scatterer among plants, needs soft water. Fry initially require very small foods.
Feeding: Omnivorous. Eats all normal foods, appreciates occasional feeds of live or frozen foods.
Additional Comments: One of the more popular tetras, with a lovely bright red stripe, looks best in a school. Easy to breed, usually spawns at first light.
