Range: Guyana, Peru, Brazil, French Guiana
Reproduction: Egg-scatterer among plants, needs soft water. Fry initially require very small foods.
Feeding: Omnivorous. Eats all normal foods, appreciates occasional feeds of live or frozen foods.
Additional Comments: Schooling fish. Wild fishes are metallic gold which is a reaction to an infection (not contagious). Captive-bred fishes don't have this colour.
