Range: Guyana
Reproduction: Egg-scatterer among plants, needs soft water. Fry initially require very small foods. Difficult to induce to breed.
Feeding: Carnivorous. Prefers Small live and frozen foods, preferably floating foods, will also eat dry food.
Additional Comments: Difficult to breed, aquarium stock is all wild-caught from South America.
