Range: Guianas and Amazon basin
Reproduction: Egg-scatterer among plants, needs soft water. Fry initially require very small foods. Difficult to induce to breed.
Feeding: Omnivorous. Eats all normal foods, appreciates occasional feeds of live or frozen foods.
Additional Comments: Schooling fish. Commonly kept aquarium fish, very hardy and great for the beginner.
