Range: Guianas, Brazil
Reproduction: Egg-scatterer among plants, needs soft water. Fry initially require very small foods.
Feeding: Omnivorous. Prefers smaller sized foods, appreciates occasional feeds of live or frozen foods.
Additional Comments: The most commonly available Pencilfish, looks its best when kept in a group in a well-planted tank with other small fishes. Suitable for a nano tank.
