Range: Brazil
Reproduction: Egg-scatterer among plants, needs soft water. Fry initially require very small foods. Difficult to induce to breed.
Feeding: Omnivorous. Prefers smaller sized foods, appreciates occasional feeds of live or frozen foods.
Additional Comments: Difficult to breed, aquarium stock is all wild-caught from South America. Looks its best when kept in a group in a well-planted tank with other small fishes. Suitable for a nano tank.
