Range: Columbia, Brazil
Reproduction: Egg-scatterer among plants, needs soft water. Fry initially require very small foods. Difficult to induce to breed.
Feeding: Omnivorous. Eats all normal foods, appreciates occasional feeds of live or frozen foods.
Additional Comments: Very popular community fish, looks great in a school, particularly against a darker substrate. Can be sensitive, so use water conditioners and ensure tank is well filtered, avoid water chemistry extremes.
