Range: Bolivia, Brazil, Argentina (wild form)
Reproduction: Egg-scatterer among plants, needs soft water. Fry initially require very small foods.
Feeding: Omnivorous. Eats all normal foods, appreciates occasional feeds of live or frozen foods.
Additional Comments: Very hardy tetra which can also be kept as a temperate fish. Good beginners fish, it is a schooling fish so best kept in a group. The gold form is an aquarium strain.
