Reproduction: Mouthbrooder: after spawning, the females incubate the eggs in their mouth until the fry are free-swimming. Males will mate with multiple females. The fry are easily raised with first foods such as baby brine shrimp.

Feeding: Carnivorous. Frozen foods, but also dry foods.

Additional Comments: The name VC10 was coined because the collector observed this fish travelled away from his nets at a speed similar to the jet airliner he sent his fish on! Females retain the same thick black bands as per juvenile fish, mature males develop a bright blue head and a gold spotted body. VC10's typically develop large very thick lips.
