Range: Africa: Lake Tanganyika
Reproduction: Mouthbrooder, males construct a sand crater and try to attract passing females.
Feeding: Carnivorous. Eats all normal foods.
Additional Comments: Inhabits sandy areas of the lake. Sifts the substrate for food items such as small invertebrates, so prefers fine sand rather than coarse gravel.
