Reproduction: Mouthbrooder, females incubate the eggs in their mouth until the fry are free-swimming.
Feeding: Carnivorous. Eats all normal foods, including small fishes.
Additional Comments: Needs hiding places. Best kept in a group with 5-6 specimens. Exists in several geographical variants.
