Range: Lake Tanganyika - sandy areas with empty snail shells
Reproduction: Substrate (cave) spawner. Breeds in empty snail shells.
Feeding: Carnivorous. Eats all normal foods.
Additional Comments: One of several small species known as 'shell-dwellers'; these fish use empty snail shells as refuges and breeding sites, usually in sandy-bottomed areas of the lake. Can be kept in a nano tank.
