Range: China
Reproduction: Breeds in Spring as water temperatures start to increase. Scatters adhesive eggs amongst plants, the adults will prey on the eggs and fry if they find them. First foods for the fry include freshwater plankton (in ponds), or fry foods such as Vinegar Eels and Fry powder food (if raising in tanks).
Feeding: Omnivorous. Eats all normal foods, including aquatic plants.
Additional Comments: Despite having the common name of Goldfish, most Goldfish tend to be orange-red rather than golden! The Golden Comet is one of the few varieties available that is a rich golden colour and it makes a great contrast to the other commonly kept Goldfish colour combinations. Ideal fish for both indoors and outdoors.
