Range: China

Reproduction: Breeds in Spring as water temperatures start to increase. Scatters adhesive eggs amongst plants, the adults will prey on the eggs and fry if they find them. First foods for the fry include freshwater plankton (in ponds), or fry foods such as Vinegar Eels and Fry powder food (if raising in tanks).

Feeding: Omnivorous. Eats all normal foods, including aquatic plants.

Additional Comments: The Fantail is a popular double-tailed Goldfish as it is very hardy and easy to care for. Ideal for both indoors and outdoors. Fantails are usually orange-red, but have also been bred in a range of other colours including calico (multi-coloured), red and white, white.
