Range: China

Reproduction: Breeds in Spring as water temperatures start to increase. Scatters adhesive eggs amongst plants, the adults will prey on the eggs and fry if they find them. First foods for the fry include freshwater plankton (in ponds), or fry foods such as Vinegar Eels and Fry powder food (if raising in tanks).

Feeding: Omnivorous. Eats all normal foods, including aquatic plants.

Additional Comments: Another Japanese Goldfish variety, Wakin have a slender body like a Comet, but coupled with a small double tail. Wakin often develop very intense colouring, their active nature makes them ideal for garden ponds.
