Reproduction: Egglayer, usually breeds in early spring
Feeding: Carnivorous, prefers bulky foods such as pellets, small fish, earthworms
Additional Comments: Popular coldwater 'oddball' pet. If keeping with fish, ensure the fish do not nibble at the Axolotl's feathery gills, or alternatively be eaten by the Axolotl. (The Axolotl has rather poor eye sight and tends to snap at anything it considers food!) Axolotls also have the amazing ability to regenerate limbs or gills.
