Reproduction: Eggs are laid on a hard surface, the eggs (and hatched fry) are guarded by both parents.
Feeding: Piscivorous. Greedy eater, prefers bulky foods.
Additional Comments: One of the largest of Central American Cichlids, very powerful and aggressive. Single specimens make a great pet, or else keep with other large Cichlids with plenty of hiding places. Males develop a more intricate colour pattern and grow larger than females.
