Range: Coastal streams and estuaries, NT and Gulf of Carpentaria.
Reproduction: Mouthbrooder, doesn't usually spawn in aquaria.
Feeding: Carnivore, readily accepts most foods. Will eat small tankmates.
Additional Comments: Fast growing species, very hardy and easy to care for. Smaller specimens have a colour pattern reminiscent of a great white shark (and an appetite to match!)
