Range: Coastal streams of south-eastern Australia.
Reproduction: Catadromous species: spends most of its life in freshwater and then migrates to sea to spawn.
Feeding: Carnivore, prefers live or frozen foods.
Additional Comments: Interesting 'oddball' for an unheated tank. Provide some hiding places and ensure the tank has an extremely tight fitting lid - Eels are master escape artists! Hardy and can become quite tame.
