Reproduction: Egg scatterer, usually only spawned in captivity after hormone injection.
Feeding: Carnivore, readily accepts most foods. Relishes live prey.
Additional Comments: Sooty Grunter are well known as an angling species, they are also very good for anyone wanting a very robust 'pet fish'. Becomes very tame in captivity and very responsive to their owner. Capable of intimidating much larger tankmates. Long lived (eg 10+ years for well cared specimens).
