Range: South-eastern Australia
Reproduction: Eggs laid on a firm surface and guarded by male until they hatch.
Feeding: Carnivore, prefers live or frozen foods. Will eat small fish.
Additional Comments: Also known as Bighead Gudgeon and Bullhead. Very hardy, but also very predatory - tankmates must be of similar size or larger! Suitable for unheated tanks or ponds, will also live in fresh or brackish water.
