Reproduction: Eggs laid on a firm surface and guarded by male until they hatch.
Feeding: Carnivore, prefers live or frozen foods, or pellets. Will eat small fish.
Additional Comments: Variable native gudgeon, with many subtle geographic colour variations. Hardy and easy to care for.Sometimes nip fins of tankmates, best kept in a good sized tank with similar sized or larger fish. An expert jumper, use a tight fitting lid.
