Range: South-west Western Australia
Reproduction: Scatters eggs amongst aquatic plants, spawns in spring.
Feeding: Carnivore, prefers small live or frozen foods, will also eat dry foods.
Additional Comments: Excellent fish for mosquito control in frog ponds in temperate regions. Becomes very colourful during breeding season (late winter and spring). Also a very good fish for unheated tanks.
