Range: Yungkiri stream, Papua New Guinea
Reproduction: Eggs scattered among plants, usually spawns in morning. First food for fry: Powder foods, Vinegar eels.
Feeding: Omnivorous, accepts most standard foods. Avoid beefheart.
Additional Comments: Rainbowfish prefer a planted tank with plenty of open swimming space. Axelrod's Rainbow is one of the rarest PNG rainbows in the aquarium hobby. May look plain at first, but very attractive when settled: silvery-white overlaid with bold dark markings. Shoaling fish.
