Range: Northern Territory and Cape York Peninsula, Queensland

Reproduction: Eggs scattered among plants, usually spawns in morning. First food for fry: Powder foods, Vinegar eels.

Feeding: Omnivorous, accepts most standard foods. Avoid beefheart.

Additional Comments: This small slender rainbow is best kept with other small species, otherwise the males may be intimidated by larger tankmates and not show their full colour. Develops attractive mauve and golden colouration when showing breeding colours. Suitable for moderate sized planted tanks, best kept in a small school.
