Range: Lake Tebera in southern highlands of Papua New Guinea.
Reproduction: Eggs scattered among plants, usually spawns in morning. First food for fry: Powder foods, Vinegar eels.
Feeding: Omnivorous, accepts most standard foods. Avoid beefheart, feed vegetable foods regularly.
Additional Comments: Restricted to a lake in the New Guinea Highlands, very attractive when mature: males develop golden bodies with bright red fins. Easy to care for, ideal for a planted tank with plenty of open swimming space.
