Range: Australia: Skull Creek near northern tip of Cape York Peninsula
Reproduction: Eggs scattered among plants, usually spawns in morning. First food for fry: Powder foods, Vinegar eels.
Feeding: Omnivorous, accepts most standard foods. Avoid beefheart.
Additional Comments: Also known as Dwarf Rainbow, this species has a disjointed distribution across Australia and PNG. These rainbows found at Skull Creek (near the tip of Cape York) have very boldly marked fins and bodies. Best kept with other smaller sized fishes in a planted tank.
