Range: Southern New Guinea, near Port Moresby.
Reproduction: Eggs scattered among plants, usually spawns in morning. First food for fry: Powder foods, Vinegar eels.
Feeding: Omnivorous, accepts most standard foods. Avoid beefheart, feed vegetable foods regularly.
Additional Comments: This species occurs in 2 colour forms: orange finned and also yellow finned. Hardy and easy to care for, best kept in a planted tank with plenty of open swimming space. Males develop long fins with age.
