Range: Tributaries of North and South Johnstone Rivers, far north Queensland
Reproduction: Eggs scattered among plants, usually spawns in morning. First food for fry: Powder foods, Vinegar eels.
Feeding: Omnivorous, accepts most standard foods. Avoid beefheart.
Additional Comments: This smaller sized rainbow is very nice, developing distinctive red stripes along the body and red spotted fins. Best kept in a planted tank with some open swimming space.
