Reproduction: Spawns on a rock, plant, etc, eggs/fry guarded by the female. Males will spawn with several females.
Feeding: Carnivorous and omnivorous. Small live and frozen foods, but also dry foods.
Additional Comments: A peaceful dwarf Cichlid, suitable for planted community tanks. Needs some hiding places. Both sexes very similar in appearance, the males develop slightly longer and more pointed fins. Becomes 'red-breasted' when in breeding condition.
