Range: Central America: Nicaragua
Reproduction: Eggs are laid on a hard surface, the eggs (and hatched fry) are guarded by both parents.
Feeding: Carnivorous and omnivorous. Eats all normal foods.
Additional Comments: Often kept as a single pet fish, adult Red Devils are real personality fish. Their colouration can vary from pale to bright red, specimens less than 12cm show little or no colour. Adults are nearly always extremely aggressive - even to their owners!
