Range: Brazil, Peru, Bolivia
Reproduction: Doesn't normally breed in aquaria.
Feeding: Omnivorous. All Otocinclus are splendid algae-eaters for small tanks. Needs vegetable foods, e.g. Algae, frozen vegetable foods and vegetable tablet foods. Substrate (plants) brooder. Peaceful.
Additional Comments: Ideal algae-eating catfish for planted tanks - will not damage fine leaved plants. Best kept with other smaller sized fishes. Difficult to breed, all aquarium stock is imported from South America.
