Reproduction: Substrate brooder, lays eggs in a mud burrow which are then guarded by the male until they hatch.
Feeding: Herbivorous and Omnivorous. Algae-eater, accepts most sinking-type foods.
Additional Comments: Popular larger-growing algae-eating catfish, very hardy and also quite attractive with its large banner-like dorsal fin.
