Range: South America:Guyana, Brazil
Reproduction: Lays eggs on a firm surface (plants, slate etc). The eggs and fry are cared for by both parents.
Feeding: Carnivorous. Live and frozen foods, also dry foods.
Additional Comments: Very popular tropical fish, with its long fins and graceful appearance. Best kept in tanks at least 45cm deep. Do not keep with fin-nipping fish such as Tiger Barbs. Appreciates some hiding places such as tall plants or driftwood.
