Reproduction: Eggs are laid in substrate, the eggs (and hatched fry) are guarded by both parents.

Additional Comments: Adults are very distinctive with their black bodies adorned with small star-like spots. Keep in a large tank with other hardy types such as Plecostomus or Central American Cichlids. Provide plenty of hiding places.
