Range: South east Asia

Reproduction: Males build a bubblenest in the roof of a cave or under a large plant leaf. After spawning, the eggs are guarded by the male until the fry have hatched and are free-swimming. The fry require tiny live food such as Paramecium.

Feeding: Omnivorous. Eats most normal foods, but prefers small live or frozen foods.

Additional Comments: Shy at first, best kept with fish such as small tetras. More sensitive than most Gouramies. Prefers a well planted tank. Rarely bred in captivity, most stock is wild collected. Suitable for a nano tank.
