Range: Indonesia, Malay Peninsula, Thailand
Reproduction: Males build a bubblenest amongst plants at the surface. After spawning, the eggs are guarded by the male until the fry have hatched and are free-swimming. The fry require tiny live food such as Paramecium.
Feeding: Omnivorous. Eats all normal foods.
Additional Comments: Popular aquarium fish, also known as Lace Gourami. Provide some open swimming space plus some heavily planted areas. Males develop longer fins and become more colourful when in breeding condition.
